앵커리지, 알래스카 – 2025년 12월 4 일 앵커리지 한인 사회가 목요일 메리어 트 호텔에 모여 제22기 민주평화통일자 문회의(민주평통) 앵커리지 지회 위촉식 을 개최했다. 이번 행사는 향후 2년 동 안 한반도 평화와 통일 기반 조성을 위 해 활동할 지역 자문위원들의 공식 임기 를 알리는 자리였다.

이번 위촉식에는 한인 사회 지도자들, 새로 임명된 자문위원들, 그리고 주시애 틀 대한민국 총영사관 관계자들이 참석 해 알래스카 한인 사회의 공공외교 및 시민 참여의 중요성을 보여주었다.

제22기 민주평통 앵커리지 지회 15명 위 원 공식 위촉

이날 행사에서는 총 15명의 자문위원 명단이 발표됐다.

김동민, 김영진, 김재은, 김학문, 민연순, 백점숙, 손미영, 손석근, 장여현, 최유실, 최진영, 최한기, 한이슬, 한정식, 그리고 페어뱅크스 거주자 김용원이 위원으로 임명되었다.

자문위원들은 ‘자문위원 선서’를 낭독 하며 대한민국 법을 준수하고, 국민이 염원하는 민주적 평화통일을 위해 헌신 할 것을 다짐했다.

특별 발표: 주시애틀 총영사관의 ‘한반 도 포럼’ 브리핑

위촉식에 이어 주시애틀 대한민국 총 영사관의 정책 담당관 심찬용 박사가 2025 한반도 포럼에 대한 특별 브리핑 을 진행했다. 이 포럼은 주시애틀 총영 사관과 워싱턴대학교 한국학센터가 공 동 주최하는 주요 학술·정책 행사다.

2014년 처음 개최된 이후, 포럼은 다음 과 같은 핵심 의제를 다뤄온 대표적인 정책 플랫폼으로 자리매김했다.

이날 위촉식은 새로운 자문위원들의 공 식 출범을 알리는 동시에, 앵커리지 한 인 사회가 한반도 평화, 외교, 남북 교류 협력을 위한 논의를 지속적으로 지지하 고 참여한다는 의미를 다시 한번 확인하 는 계기가 되었다.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — December 4, 2025. The Korean American community in Anchorage gathered at the Marriott Hotel on Thursday to celebrate the official 22nd Peaceful Unification Advisory Council (PUAC) Anchorage Chapter Appointment Ceremony, marking the beginning of a new two-year term for local advisory members committed to supporting peace and unification efforts on the Korean Peninsula.

The ceremony brought together community leaders, newly appointed council members, and representatives from the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Seattle, underscoring the significance of Korean civic engagement in Alaska.

15 Local Leaders Appointed to the 22nd PUAC Anchorage Chapter

During the ceremony, the names of 15 newly appointed advisory members were announced:

Kim Dong-min, Kim Young-jin, Kim Jae-eun, Kim Hak-mun, Min Yeon-sun, Baek Jeom-sook, Son Mi-young, Son Seok-geun, Jang Yeo-hyun, Choi Yu-sil, Choi Jin-young, Choi Han-gi, Han Yi-seul, Han Jeong-sik, and Kim Yong-won, who resides in Fairbanks.

Members recited the official Advisory Member Oath, pledging to uphold the laws of the Republic of Korea and devote themselves to the Korean people’s aspiration for democratic and peaceful unification.

Special Presentation: Korean Peninsula Forum Briefing by Seattle Consulate

Following the appointment ceremony, Sim Chan-yong, Policy Specialist from the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Seattle, delivered a special briefing on the 2025 Korean Peninsula Forum, a major academic and policy event jointly hosted by the Seattle Consulate and the University of Washington’s Center for Korean Studies. Since its launch in 2014, the forum has served as a leading policy platform addressing:

· Korea–U.S. relations

· International order and geopolitical challenges

A Meaningful Day for the Korean Community in Alaska

The appointment ceremony not only recognized the incoming advisory members but also reaffirmed Anchorage’s role in supporting meaningful discussions on peace, diplomacy, and inter-Korean cooperation.
