앵커리지, 알래스카 – 2025년 10월 28 일(화) 오후 5시 30분부터 7시 30분까 지 BP 에너지 센터 버치룸(1014 Energy Ct, Anchorage, AK 99508)에서 앵커 리지 시의회 의원 에린 발드윈-데이 (Erin Baldwin-Day)와 애나 브롤리(Anna Brawley)가 주최하는 “우리의 시정, 우 리의 예산(Our Muni, Our Budget)” 공 개 대화가 열린다. 이번 행사는 앵커리 지의 재정 방향과 지역사회의 미래를 함 께 논의하기 위해 마련되었으며, 누구나 참석할 수 있다.

이번 대화에서는 시의 수입과 지출, 그 리고 향후의 선택지에 대해 주민들과 솔 직하게 이야기를 나누는 시간을 갖는다.

두 의원은 “이번 행사는 단순히 2026 회계연도 예산안에 관한 토론이 아니라, 현재의 재정 구조와 미래의 지속 가능 성에 대해 진지하게 논의하고자 한다” 고 밝혔다.

브롤리 의원은 “이번 대화의 핵심은 단기적 해결책을 찾는 것이 아니라, 앵 커리지가 진정으로 필요로 하는 것, 시 민들이 바라는 것, 그리고 기꺼이 지불 할 수 있는 범위와 줄일 수 있는 부분을 함께 고민하는 데 있다”고 말했다. 이 어 “이 자리는 새로운 예산안을 만드 는 자리가 아니라, 시민들이 가장 중요 하게 생각하는 가치가 무엇인지 함께 이 야기하는 첫 걸음이 될 것”이라고 덧 붙였다.

이번 행사는 라이브 방송이나 영상 녹화 없이 진행되지만, 대화 후 주요 논의 내 용과 주민 의견은 정리되어 공개될 예정 이다. 시의회는 앞으로도 주민들의 질문 과 제안을 지속적으로 수집하고, 시민들 이 앵커리지의 재정 현황을 명확히 이해 하고 미래의 선택을 할 수 있도록 정보 를 제공할 계획이다.

주최 측은 “이번 대화에 참석하지 못 하더라도, 재정 문제에 관한 논의는 계 속될 것”이라며 “지역 단체나 커뮤니 티 그룹이 별도로 논의할 수 있는 기회 를 확대하고, 더 많은 시민들이 참여할 수 있도록 다양한 방식을 시도하겠다” 고 전했다.

Why does this matter? Why should you show up?

Our local government budget is asking everyone in the Municipality to have a real conversation about the Municipality’s budget. Not specifically the proposed FY 2026 budget: that has its own process, outlined further in this issue. Instead, we want to talk about how the budget is right now, what will happen in the future if we don’t make changes, and start considering our options.

Ultimately, the choices are in the hands of voters, especially on fiscal policy. So we’re putting it all on the table, not trying to craft all the solutions in one evening, but asking people: What does Anchorage need? What do you want? What are you willing to pay for? And, what are you willing to cut? We’re not going to walk out of that meeting with a new budget, but we’ll start talking about what’s most important to you.

While this meeting won’t be livestreamed or video recorded, we will share back some takeaways from our conversation afterwards, as well as continue to collect the public’s questions about our budget and fiscal picture, and work to keep providing the information people want in order to understand where we are, and make choices in the future.
