알래스카 한인체육회는 광복절을 앞두 고 친선 축구 경기를 개최해 축제 분위 기를 조성함과 동시에 다가오는 겨울 실 내 리그를 준비하는 의미 있는 시간을 마련했다.

이번 경기는 축구를 사랑하는 한인 청소 년과 청년들, 그리고 앵커리지 지역사회 의 다양한 구성원들을 한자리에 모았다. 많은 선수들에게 이번 경기는 단순한 스 포츠를 넘어 우정을 돈독히 하고 매년 지역 선수들에게 큰 의미가 되어온 겨울 시즌을 준비하는 기회가 되었다.

겨울 실내 축구 리그는 그동안 한인과 비한인을 아우르며 지역사회 교류의 중 요한 역할을 해왔다. 이 리그는 청소년 과 청년들이 꾸준히 운동할 수 있는 긍 정적인 장을 제공하는 동시에, 스포츠라 는 매개체를 통해 서로 다른 문화가 경 쟁과 친목 속에서 어우러질 수 있는 포 용적인 공간으로 자리잡아 왔다.

특히 교회 공동체의 역할도 두드러졌다. 오픈도어 교회(Open Door Church)와 앵 커리지 제일한인침례교회(First Korean Baptist Church) 교인들이 경기에 참여하 며, 신앙과 지역사회의 긴밀한 연결고 리를 다시 한번 보여주었다. 앵커리지의 한인 교회들은 젊은 선수들이 스포츠 활 동에 참여하도록 독려하고 지역 체육 프 로그램의 성장을 지원하는 데 있어 꾸준 히 중요한 역할을 해왔다.

다가오는 겨울 실내 리그를 앞두고 열 린 이번 친선 경기는 곧 다가올 열기를 미리 체험할 수 있는 뜻깊은 자리가 되 었다. 선수들과 가족, 그리고 관중들은 밝은 표정으로 경기를 마무리하며, 단 순한 스포츠를 넘어 지역사회의 화합 과 우정을 이어갈 새로운 시즌을 고대 하게 했다.

The Korean Sports Association of Alaska recently hosted a friendly soccer match in the days leading up to Korea’s Liberation Day, creating both a festive spirit of celebration and a warm-up opportunity for the upcoming winter indoor league.

The match brought together Korean youth, young adults, and members of the wider Anchorage community who share a love of the sport. For many players, it was more than just a game—it was a chance to strengthen friendships and prepare for a season that has become a highlight for local athletes each winter.

The winter indoor soccer league has played an important role in building community connections, drawing in both Koreans and non-Koreans alike. Over the years, it has provided a positive outlet for youth and young adults to stay active, while also offering an inclusive space where cultures can come together through shared competition and camaraderie.

Church communities have also been at the heart of this effort. Members from Open Door Church and First Korean Baptist Church were among the participants, demonstrating the strong ties between faith and community engagement. Korean churches in Anchorage have consistently played an instrumental role in encouraging young athletes to join and supporting the growth of local sports programs. With the winter indoor league set to begin soon, the friendly match served as a meaningful preview of the excitement to come. Players, families, and supporters left with high spirits, looking forward to another season of soccer that promises not only athletic competition but also unity and fellowship across communities.
