앵커리지, 알래스카 – 2025년 10월 6 일 – 알래스카대학교 앵커리지(UAA) 한 인학생회(KOSA)와 앵커리지 한인회의 차세대 모임(NEXGEN)이 함께 주최한 추 석 협력 행사가 학생들과 지역사회를 음 식, 전통놀이, 그리고 한민족의 문화유산 으로 하나로 묶었다.

이번 행사는 UAA 캠퍼스 내에서 열렸 으며, 한국 문화를 기념하고 공동체 정 신을 나누는 축제의 장이었다. NEXGEN 회원들은 한국의 대표적인 길거리 음식 인 매콤한 떡볶이와 달콤한 흑설탕 호 떡을 직접 준비해 KOSA를 지원했다. 갓 조리된 음식의 향이 캠퍼스를 가득 채 우자 많은 학생들이 진정한 한국의 맛을 경험하기 위해 모여들었다.

행사에서는 맛있는 음식뿐만 아니라 투 호, 공기놀이, 제기차기 등 전통 한국놀 이도 함께 진행되었다. 한인 학생뿐 아 니라 다양한 배경의 학생들이 함께 웃고 즐기며 우정과 경쟁의 장을 만들어냈다.

이번 협력 행사는 단순한 문화축제에 그 치지 않고, 앞으로의 KOSA와 NEXGEN 활동을 위한 기금 모금 행사로도 의미 를 더했다.

KOSA 회장 레이첼 김은 “오늘 함께해 주신 모든 분들과 NEXGEN에 진심으로 감사드립니다. 이런 행사는 문화를 함께 나누는 즐거움을 느끼게 해주며, 우리가 하나의 큰 공동체임을 다시금 깨닫게 합 니다.”라고 전했다.

NEXGEN 측 관계자 또한 “대학생들이 자신의 뿌리를 자랑스럽게 여기며, 동시 에 다른 이들에게 한국 문화를 소개하는 모습이 매우 인상적이었습니다. 앞으로 도 음식과 문화, 그리고 우정을 통해 한 인 사회와 세대를 잇는 다리를 놓는 데. 힘쓰겠습니다.”라고 밝혔다.

행사는 전통과 세대 간의 연결, 그리고 젊음의 열정을 한데 어우르며, 참가자들 의 마음과 배를 모두 풍성하게 채운 하 루로 마무리되었다.

Anchorage, AK – October 6, 2025 — The Korean Student Association (KOSA) at the University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA) and the Korean American Community of Anchorage’s NEXGEN group joined forces for a lively Chuseok collaboration event that brought together students and community members through food, games, and shared heritage.

The event, held on the UAA campus, was a celebration of Korean culture and community spirit. NEXGEN members supported KOSA by preparing two of Korea’s most beloved street foods — spicy rice cakes (tteokbokki) and sweet, warm pancakes filled with brown sugar(hotteok). The aroma of freshly cooked dishes filled the air, drawing in students eager to experience authentic Korean flavors.

Beyond the delicious food, the event featured traditional Korean games such as tuho (arrow throwing), gonggi (a tossing game similar to jacks), and jegichagi (a Korean version of hacky sack). Laughter and friendly competition filled the student union as both Koreans and non-Koreans joined in the fun.

This collaborative gathering was not only a cultural celebration but also a fundraising effort to support future KOSA and NEXGEN activities. KOSA president Rachel Kim expressed gratitude for the support: “We’re so thankful to NEXGEN and everyone who came out today. Events like this remind us that culture is meant to be shared — and that we’re all part of one big community.”

Similarly, NEXGEN’s leadership emphasized their ongoing mission to connect young Koreans and Korean-Americans across Anchorage.

“It’s inspiring to see college students embrace their heritage while welcoming others to learn,” said a NEXGEN representative. “We’re proud to stand with KOSA and help build bridges through food, culture, and friendship.” As the day came to a close, attendees left with full hearts — and full stomachs — after a day that perfectly blended tradition, togetherness, and youthful energy.
