6월 10일(화), 재미알래스카체육회 (AKASA)는 알래스카 한인회관에서 오는 제23회 전미주 한인체육대회(달라스,
텍사스)에 참가하는 알래스카 대표 선수 단을 격려하고 응원하는 출정식을 개최했습니다

오는 2025년 6월 20일부터 22일까지, 텍사스 주 파머스 브랜치(Farmers Branch)에 위치한 StarCenter에서 열리
는 이번 대회는 미국 전역의 한인 선수들이 한자리에 모여 검도, 골프, 농구, 배구, 배드민턴, 볼링, 소프트볼, 사격, 수
영, 씨름, 아이스하키, 야구, 육상, 족구, 축구, 탁구, 태권도, 테니스 등 다양한 종목에서 실력을 겨루는 미주 최대 규모의
체육 행사입니다.

이번 대회에서 알래스카 선수단은 농구, 족구, 배드민턴 종목에 출전하여 지역 사회의 기대를 안고 자랑스럽게 실력을 펼칠 예정입니다.

선수단의 준비는 앵커리지 한인회 산하의 부속 단체인 AKASA(재미알래스카체
육회)가 주도해 왔습니다. AKASA는 선수들의 경기력 향상뿐만 아니라, 지역
주민들이 함께 즐길 수 있는 스포츠 행사를 정기적으로 주최하며 건강한 생활
을 장려하고 있습니다. 변해규 회장과 임원진의 지도 아래, 체육회는 세대 간의 교류와 화합을 스포츠를 통해 실현하
고 있습니다.

이번 체육대회는 단순한 스포츠 경기를 넘어, 전국의 한인 디아스포라를 하나로 묶는 문화 축제이자 소통의 장입니다.
알래스카에서는 스포츠가 청소년의 활발한 참여를 유도하고, 시니어들의 건강을 유지하는 중요한 수단으로 기능해왔
으며, 이를 통해 한인 사회의 차세대 리더 육성과 세대 간 소통 강화에 기여하고 있습니다.

전미주 한인체육대회는 미주 한인들의 단결과 협력을 도모하고, 한국인으로 서의 자긍심을 높이며, 커뮤니티 발전
에 기여하기 위해 창설된 대회입니다. 1981년 LA에서 시작된 이 대회는 35년 이상의 역사를 지닌 미국 최대 규모전미주 한인체육대회는 미주 한인들의 단결과 협력을 도모하고, 한국인으로서의 자긍심을 높이며, 커뮤니티 발전
에 기여하기 위해 창설된 대회입니다. 1981년 LA에서 시작된 이 대회는 35년 이상의 역사를 지닌 미국 최대 규모의 한인 종합 체육 행사로, 2년에 한 번씩 개최되고 있습니다. 이 대회는 단순한 스포츠 행사를 넘어, 한민족의 끈끈한 연대감과 성취를 통해 국민적 일체감을 이끌어내고, 차세대 한인 선수 양성과 민족적 자긍심 고취에 중점을 두고
있습니다. 전국 각지에서 모인 선수들과 리더들이 함께 어우러지며, 응원과 축제를 통해 한인 사회의 화합과 단결을 추
구하는 데 그 의미가 있습니다.

달라스를 향해 출발하는 알래스카 선수 단은 지역 사회의 응원과 기대를 안고, 자랑스럽게 경쟁하고, 대표하고, 스포츠
의 힘으로 하나 되는 여정에 나섭니다.

On Tuesday, June 10th, the Alaska Korean American Sports Association (AKASA) held a spirited send-off
ceremony at the Korean American Association of Alaska to celebrate and honor local athletes who will represent the state at the 23rd Korean American National Sports Festival in Dallas,
Texas.

Set to take place from June 20 to June 22, 2025, at StarCenter in Farmers Branch, the festival brings together Korean American athletes from across the United States to compete in a wide
range of sports, including Kendo, Golf, Basketball, Volleyball, Badminton, Bowling, Softball, Shooting, Swimming, Ssireum (Korean wrestling), Ice Hockey, Baseball, Track & Field, Jokgu, Soccer, Table Tennis, Taekwondo, and Tennis.

Alaska will be proudly represented in Basketball, Jokgu, and Badminton. The team’s preparation has been led by AKASA, a sub-organization under the Korean American Community of Anchorage. AKASA not only supports competitive athletes but also hosts local sports events that encourage community fitness and active lifestyles. Under the leadership of President Byun Hae-gyu and an executive committee, the association continues to build bridges between generations
through sport.

Beyond competition, the Korean American National Sports Festival serves as a cultural celebration and
a unifying experience for the Korean diaspora across the country. In Alaska,
sports have played a significant role in both engaging youth and supporting the health and well-being of seniors. Through programs that promote regular physical activity and team participation, the Korean American community in Anchorage is nurturing emerging leaders and fostering deeper intergenerational and cultural connections.

The Korean American Sports Festival is to unite together among Korean-Americans, ensure mutual cooperation, enhance pride as a Korean, and contribute to community development and communication between communities. Starting in LA in 1981, the Korean American Sports Festival with a history of 35 years has been the largest sports festival in United States. It is a general sports competition across the nations, held every two years. The Korean American Sports festival is aimed to elicit their national unity through the remarkable achievements as a result of their sweat and efforts. The Korean American Sports Festival is meant not only to educate physically as a simple sports event but also increase the population of Korean players and pride of being a Korean. By cheering for the players across the nations, the Korean American Sport festival seeks harmony and unity among Korean Americans. Also by getting together with excellent players and their leaders.

As the Alaska team heads to Dallas, they carry the hopes and support of their local community—ready to compete, represent, and connect through the power of sport.
