9월 12일부터 14일까지 지역 가족들이 앵커리지 열린문 교회에 모여 3일간 진 행된 성경적 세계관 세미나에 참석했다. 이번 세미나는 부모들이 성경에 기초한 강한 가치관으로 다음세대를 양육할 수 있도록 실질적인 도구를 제공하기 위해 기획되었으며, 총 5개의 세션으로 현대 문화와 미디어의 영향, 사춘기 등 자녀 양육의 다양한 도전에 대응하면서 성경 적 관점으로 삶과 성(性)을 바라볼 수 있 도록 돕는 데 초점을 맞추었다.

개회 첫날: 성경적 세계관의 중요성

세미나는 금요일 저녁 ‘성경적 세계 관’이라는 주제로 막을 올렸다. 강사들 은 우리가 세계적 차원의 “세계관 전 쟁” 속에 살고 있음을 강조하며, 부모 들이 적극적으로 자녀의 진리 이해를 바 로 세우는 역할을 감당해야 한다고 당 부했다. 또한 가정에서부터 영적으로 무 장하고 말씀을 통해 옳고 그름을 분별 하는 훈련을 자녀에게 가르쳐야 한다고 권면했다.

토요일 세션: 미디어, 문화, 성교육

토요일에는 두 개의 심화 세션이 진행됐 다. 첫 번째 세션 ‘미디어와 전쟁’에 서는 현대 미디어 환경이 자녀들에게 미 치는 부정적 영향이 집중적으로 다뤄졌 다. 스마트폰 중독, 우울증, 낮은 자존감, 유해 콘텐츠 노출 등 여러 문제들이 언 급되었으며, 부모들이 자녀의 정서적· 영적 건강을 지키기 위해 가정에서 건 강한 경계와 전략을 세워야 한다고 강 조했다.

두 번째 세션 ‘나이별 성경적 성교 육’에서는 하나님의 창조 질서 안에서 성이 아름다운 것임을 가르치는 일이 가 정에서 일찍 시작되어야 함을 강조했다.

강사들은 성교육은 아이의 발달 단계에 맞게 이루어져야 하며, 자녀에게 자신의 몸과 타인의 몸을 존중하는 법, 나이에 맞는 경계를 세우는 방법을 가르치는 실 질적인 방법을 공유했다.

일요일 세션: 사춘기 자녀 지도 세미나 마지막 날은 사춘기 자녀를 위 한 두 개의 연속 세션으로 진행됐다. ‘ 사춘기 세미나 1’에서는 부모의 지도 방식이 자녀의 가치관과 인격 형성에 결 정적 영향을 미친다고 강조하며, 사춘기 의 특징과 대처법, 그리고 자녀가 세속 적 유혹 속에서도 하나님이 기뻐하시는 삶을 선택할 수 있도록 돕는 실제적 지 침을 제공했다.

마지막 세션인 ‘순결을 위한 영적 전 쟁’에서는 부모들이 자녀에게 성적 순 결의 중요성을 가르쳐야 할 책임이 있음 을 상기시켰다. 강사들은 아들은 눈을, 딸은 마음을 지켜야 한다는 점을 강조하 며, 영적·감정적·육체적으로 순결을 지키기 위해 부모가 어떻게 가이드를 해 야 하는지 구체적으로 배울 수 있는 시 간이 되었다.

가정을 향한 도전

세미나 관계자들은 이번 행사가 부모들 이 자녀의 세계관 형성에 주도적으로 참 여할 것을 촉구하는 자리였다고 전했다.

한 강사는 “자녀는 우리의 소유물이 아니라 하나님의 자녀입니다. 하나님의 길을 걷고 지혜와 분별력, 순결을 갖춘 사람으로 성장하도록 양육하는 것이 우 리의 책임입니다.”라고 강조했다.

From September 12–14, local families gathered for a three-day Biblical Worldview Seminar designed to equip parents with practical tools to raise the next generation with strong values rooted in Scripture. The seminar, which featured five sessions across three days, focused on helping parents guide their children through the challenges of modern culture, media influence, and adolescence while instilling a biblical perspective on life and sexuality. The seminar took place at The Anchorage Korean Open-door Presbyterian Church.

Opening Night: The Importance of a Biblical Worldview

The seminar opened on Friday evening with a session titled “Biblical Worldview.” Organizers emphasized that we are living in the midst of a global “battle of worldviews” and that parents must take an active role in shaping their children’s understanding of truth. Speakers urged families to be spiritually equipped at home and to intentionally teach children to discern right from wrong through the lens of Scripture.

Saturday Sessions: Media, Culture, and Sex Education

Saturday’s program featured two in-depth sessions. The first, “Media and the Battle,” examined how today’s media environment can negatively impact children, citing issues such as smartphone addiction, depression, low self-esteem, and exposure to harmful content. Parents were encouraged to set healthy boundaries and create family strategies to protect their children’s emotional and spiritual well-being. The second session, “Age-Appropriate Biblical Sex Education,” guided parents on teaching God’s design for sexuality from an early age. Leaders stressed that sex education should begin in the home and be tailored to a child’s developmental stage. Attendees learned about setting age-appropriate boundaries and fostering respect for their own bodies and the bodies of others.

Sunday Sessions: Guiding Teens Through Puberty

The final day of the seminar focused on adolescence with back-to-back sessions. “Puberty Seminar 1” discussed how parental guidance during puberty significantly shapes a teen’s character and values. Parents received practical advice for helping teens make wise decisions and live lives pleasing to God despite societal pressures.

The closing session, “Spiritual Battle for Purity,” challenged parents to teach their children about the importance of sexual purity. Boys were encouraged to guard their eyes and girls their hearts as part of living a life of integrity. The session emphasized spiritual, emotional, and physical preparation, equipping parents to guide their children in making God-honoring choices.

A Call to Action for Families

Organizers described the seminar as a call to action for parents to take an active role in shaping their children’s worldview. “Our children are not just ours—they are God’s,” one speaker reminded the audience. “It’s our responsibility to raise them to walk in His ways and live with wisdom, discernment, and purity.”
