PALMER, Alaska —The Alaska State Fair is once again bringing large crowds to Palmer for food, carnival rides, agricultural exhibits, shopping, live entertainment and major concerts.

The Korean News team visited the fair on Saturday, August 29, and one of the biggest things visitors should prepare for is traffic. During the visit, it took approximately one hour to get into the parking lot because of heavy weekend congestion.

The 2026 Alaska State Fair runs through September 7 at the Alaska State Fairgrounds in Palmer and is celebrating its 90th year. Weekend visitors should plan to leave early and allow extra time for traffic and parking.

Food is another major attraction, but some popular vendors can have long lines. During Saturday’s visit, local favorites including Russian Eats and Talkeetna Spinach Bread drew especially large crowds. Visitors hoping to try specific foods may want to go earlier in the day or avoid peak lunch and dinner hours.

Live music is also a major part of this year’s fair. The 2026 Alaska State Fair Concert Series includes performers such as AJR, Megadeth, Ziggy Marley, CAKE, Modest Mouse, Nate Smith, BigXthaPlug, Bachman-Turner Overdrive, Twisted Sister, deadmau5, Jesse McCartney and Lyle Lovett. 

Anyone planning to attend a concert should be careful when purchasing tickets online. The Alaska State Fair recommends buying directly through its official website or authorized ticket provider, eTix. Third-party resale sites may charge significantly higher prices, sometimes more than double the original ticket cost, and the Fair does not guarantee tickets purchased from unauthorized sellers. 

Visitors looking for more live music can also stop by the Sluicebox, which features performances throughout the afternoon and evening along with beer and wine. Some performances continue late into the night. 

The Alaska State Fair can easily be an all-day experience, so visitors should plan ahead, expect large weekend crowds and allow plenty of time to enjoy the food, exhibits, entertainment and concerts.

팔머, 알래스카 — 알래스카 주립박람회가 올해도 음식, 놀이기구, 농축산 전시, 쇼핑, 라이브 공연과 대형 콘서트 등을 즐기려는 방문객들로 붐비고 있다.

코리안 뉴스 취재팀은 8월 29일 토요일 박람회장을 방문했다. 주말 방문객들이 가장 먼저 대비해야 할 부분 중 하나는 교통이다. 이날 주말 교통 정체로 인해 주차장에 진입하는 데 약 1시간이 소요됐다.

2026 알래스카 주립박람회는 팔머에 위치한 알래스카 주립박람회장에서 9월 7일까지 열리며, 올해로 90주년을 맞았다. 주말에 방문할 경우 평소보다 일찍 출발하고 교통과 주차를 위해 충분한 여유 시간을 두는 것이 좋다.

먹거리 역시 박람회의 큰 즐길 거리지만, 인기 판매점에는 긴 줄이 생길 수 있다. 토요일 방문 당시 러시안 이츠(Russian Eats)와 탈키트나 스피니치 브레드(Talkeetna Spinach Bread) 등 지역 인기 먹거리 매장에는 특히 많은 사람들이 몰렸다. 특정 음식을 꼭 맛보고 싶다면 비교적 이른 시간에 방문하거나 점심과 저녁의 혼잡 시간을 피하는 것이 도움이 될 수 있다.

라이브 음악도 올해 박람회의 주요 볼거리다. 2026 알래스카 주립박람회 콘서트 시리즈에는 AJR, Megadeth, Ziggy Marley, CAKE, Modest Mouse, Nate Smith, BigXthaPlug, Bachman-Turner Overdrive, Twisted Sister, deadmau5, Jesse McCartney, Lyle Lovett 등 다양한 장르의 유명 아티스트들이 참여한다.

콘서트 관람을 계획하고 있다면 온라인 티켓 구매 시 주의가 필요하다. 알래스카 주립박람회 측은 공식 웹사이트 또는 공식 티켓 판매처인 eTix를 통해 직접 구매할 것을 권장하고 있다. 일부 제3자 재판매 사이트에서는 정가보다 훨씬 높은 가격에 티켓을 판매하며, 경우에 따라 원래 가격의 두 배 이상으로 판매되기도 한다. 또한 비공식 판매처를 통해 구매한 티켓에 대해서는 박람회 측이 유효성을 보장하지 않는다.

더 많은 라이브 음악을 즐기고 싶은 방문객들은 슬루스박스(Sluicebox)도 찾을 수 있다. 이곳에서는 오후부터 저녁까지 다양한 라이브 공연이 이어지며 맥주와 와인도 판매된다. 일부 공연은 밤늦게까지 계속된다.

알래스카 주립박람회는 하루 종일 즐길 수 있는 행사인 만큼 방문 전 미리 계획을 세우는 것이 좋다. 특히 주말에는 많은 인파가 몰리는 만큼 교통, 주차, 음식 대기시간 등을 고려해 충분한 시간을 확보하면 더욱 여유롭게 먹거리와 전시, 공연, 콘서트를 즐길 수 있다.

2026 알래스카 주립박람회는 9월 7일 월요일까지 팔머의 2075 Glenn Highway에서 계속된다.
