ANCHORAGE, Alaska —Alaska’s Aug. 18 primary election results are becoming clearer, with nearly all Election Day precincts reporting. Results remain unofficial as absentee, early and questioned ballots continue to be counted.

In the U.S. Senate race, former Democratic U.S. Rep. Mary Peltola leads with about 48% of the vote, followed by Republican incumbent Sen. Dan Sullivan with about 43%. The race for the fourth and final general-election position remains extremely close.

In the race for Alaska governor, Democrat Jonathan Kreiss-Tomkins currently leads with about 21.6%, followed by Democrat Tom Begich with roughly 20.1%. Republicans **Bernadette Wilson and Dave Bronson** currently hold third and fourth place.

Republican U.S. Rep. Nick Begich III leads the primary for Alaska’s lone U.S. House seat with about 46% of the vote, while independent Bill Hill is second with approximately 31%.

Alaskans also strongly supported Ballot Measure 1, which would establish new limits on campaign contributions. About 71% of voters have supported the measure so far.

Election officials will continue counting outstanding ballots, and final results are expected after the remaining absentee ballots are processed. The top four candidates in each race advance to the Nov. 3 general election, which will use ranked-choice voting.

알래스카 예비선거 결과 윤곽 드러나

앵커리지, 알래스카 — 8월 18일 실시된 알래스카 예비선거 결과가 점차 윤곽을 드러내고 있다. 선거 당일 대부분의 투표소 집계가 완료됐지만, 부재자 투표와 사전투표, 확인이 필요한 투표용지 집계가 계속되고 있어 현재 결과는 아직 비공식이다.

미 연방 상원의원 선거에서는 민주당 소속 전 연방 하원의원 메리 펠톨라(Mary Peltola)가 약 48%의 득표율로 선두를 달리고 있으며, 공화당 현직 상원의원 댄 설리번(Dan Sullivan)이 약 43%로 뒤를 잇고 있다. 본선에 진출하는 마지막 4위 자리를 놓고는 매우 근소한 경쟁이 이어지고 있다.

알래스카 주지사 선거에서는 민주당 조너선 크라이스-톰킨스(Jonathan Kreiss-Tomkins)가 약 21.6%로 현재 1위를 기록하고 있으며, 민주당 톰 베기치(Tom Begich)가 약 20.1%로 뒤를 잇고 있다. 공화당의 버나뎃 윌슨(Bernadette Wilson)과 데이브 브론슨(Dave Bronson)이 각각 3위와 4위를 기록하고 있다.

알래스카의 유일한 연방 하원의원 선거에서는 공화당 현직 의원 닉 베기치 3세(Nick Begich III)가 약 46%로 선두를 달리고 있으며, 무소속 빌 힐(Bill Hill)이 약 31%로 2위를 기록하고 있다.

유권자들은 선거자금 기부 한도를 새롭게 설정하는 주민발의안 1(Ballot Measure 1)에도 높은 지지를 보냈다. 현재까지 약 71%의 유권자가 찬성표를 던진 것으로 집계됐다.

알래스카 선거 당국은 남아 있는 부재자 투표 등을 계속 집계할 예정이다. 각 선거에서 상위 4명의 후보가 11월 3일 본선거에 진출하며, 본선에서는 순위선택투표제(Ranked-Choice Voting)가 적용된다.
