University of Alaska Anchorage — April 9, 2026 The University of Alaska Anchorage hosted its annual Goaties Leadership Awards Reception on April 9, recognizing outstanding student organizations and campus leaders who have made a meaningful impact throughout the academic year.

Among this year’s honorees, the Korean Student Association at UAA (KOSA) received the prestigious Club of the Year award—an impressive achievement for a group established less than two years ago.

A Rapid Rise for a New Organization

KOSA is led by a dedicated student leadership team including Rachel Kim (President), Alejandro Herrera (Vice President), Katelyn Piper (Secretary), Lia Vasquez (Social Media Manager), and Victoria Yu (Treasurer).

Despite being a relatively new organization, KOSA has quickly established itself as a vibrant and influential presence on campus. The Club of the Year recognition reflects not only its rapid growth but also its strong engagement with students from diverse backgrounds.

Building Community Through Culture and Connection

Throughout the year, KOSA has organized a wide range of events aimed at fostering cultural awareness, community, and student engagement. Drawing from highlights shared on their Instagram (@kosa_uaa), the club has hosted:
